ABOUT
COUCHBOY is an indie rock band currently releasing music and performing in Western Massachusetts. Formed by David MacDonald, a singer-songwriter from Amherst MA, USA, the band includes Jamie Soph on drums, and Bryan Field on bass.
The band's sound is a blend of 90’s grunge, 60's pop, jangly, punk, and lo-fi inspirations tied up into melodic 3-4 minute alt-pop songs!
In July 2023, COUCHBOY joined the artist roster of SUBJANGLE records and released the 10 song CD "Singles and What Nots" on the label, selling out 2 runs and receiving critical acclaim. COUCHBOY's 2nd full length CD, "Summer", was released in Sept. 2024, again on the SUBJAGLE label, with songs going into rotation on multiple radio stations including the Boston and Western MA region with "Summer" being the bands most successful single to date.
COUCHBOY is included on the HOLY CRAP RECORDS compilations "Big Money" (July 2023) and "Ramonesesque" (March 2022), The START TRACK RECORDS compilations: "Start the Track Vol.3" (Sept. 2023), "Vol.4" (Dec.2023), and "Vol.7 (Feb.2025) and also the ICE CREAM MAN POWER POP records compilation "A Sprinkle Of Summer Fun" (Sept. 2023) and an upcoming DAMMIT RECORDS compilation in March 2025.
The band is at work on a new record for SUBJANGLE and is playing shows in the Western MA region.
